Santasi / Bohyen, Kumasi

About New Oxford.

A school with real history — and a track record that speaks for itself.

Our background.

New Oxford International School was established in Santasi / Bohyen, Kumasi, by educators who believed that academic standards in private schooling should not be a compromise. The school was built around a simple principle: if you teach well, prepare students properly, and hold them to high expectations, the results follow.

That approach has been vindicated year after year. Our BECE results are consistently strong. Our students proceed to reputable senior high schools. And families who send one child to New Oxford tend to come back with the next.

The reputation we've built.

We are not the loudest school in Kumasi. We don't have the most events or the fanciest branding. What we have is a reputation among parents who know — people who've asked around, compared options, and decided that New Oxford is where they want their child.

Some families travel past closer schools to bring their children to us. That tells us more than any award would.

Our values

Academic rigour

We teach to understand, not just to pass. Students leave New Oxford prepared to compete.

Honest assessment

We tell parents the truth about where their child is — and what needs to change.

Respect and discipline

Students are expected to take school seriously. That expectation is communicated clearly and consistently.

Long-term thinking

We prepare students not just for BECE — but for the years that come after it.

Our teaching staff.

Most of our teachers have been at New Oxford for many years. That continuity is not accidental — we cultivate it deliberately, because we know a stable, experienced teaching team produces better outcomes than frequent change.

Our teachers know the curriculum deeply, they know how to manage a classroom, and they know how to reach students who are struggling. That combination is hard to replicate.
